Mercedes A-Class AMG Hot Hatch!

I’m not normally a fan of Mercedes at all. I think I was put off by the fact that I used to spend hours taxiing my parent’s friends around in their Mercedes-Benz CLK in Southampton when I was trying to survive financially at university. The car was fast and way more exciting than the Peugeot 107 that I used to own at the time, however, there was something about driving a car that had so much potential power but also had an automatic gearbox which stole any prospect of fun in my opinion.

Well Top Gear are reporting on a vehicle which may be the one to change my mind.

New Mercedes A-Class AMG Hot Hatch

The New Mercedes A-Class is an AMG tuned, hot hatch which was unveiled as a concept at a preview event on the eve of the looming Shanghai Motor Show. This Concept A-Class is being heralded by Mercedes as a step forward in one of its key markets: China.

In terms of appearance this concept is unrecognisable as a member of the Mercedes A-Class family. It’s low body, longer and wider wheelbase, sleek lines and mean looking grille and lights make this Concept look like it is built on a foundation of aggressive, explosive power. Oh and by the way this concept is a 350bhp version of the Mercedes A-Class.

The New Mercedes A-Class is set to arrive in UK showrooms in the first quarter of 2013 and it is rumoured that up to 85% of the styling will be inspired by this particular concept.

More news, as and when I hear it! Would you trade your hot hatch in for one of these if the price was right?
